As a professional artist, Paul Hughes (known locally as "PHD")  has dedicated years to the arts and is constantly seeking innovative ways to develop new skills. PHD is a prolific public muralist that has transformed ordinary under-utilized spaces into an opportunity for the city’s residents or tourists to encounter a piece of art that is unexpected. PHD defines his artwork as deliberate, carefully designed and unapologetic.

Featured twice in Miami’s best graffiti map, PHD’s work has been exhibited by The Museum of Graffiti, Archive 79, The Bushwick Collective, Mana Urban Arts, Yo Miami and others. For the last 15 years, often with long time collaborators Jay Bellicchi and Eduardo Mendieta, PHD has created murals for the Related Group, and other high-profile clients across the country.
